Rebecca Lynn Santone
Welcome to my blog! My name is Rebecca Santone, but most people just call me Becca. I am a 23 year old dancer, teacher, and writer from Methuen, Massachusetts. I have been dancing since I was three years old and most of my training as a child was in classical ballet. I hold a Bachelor of Arts from Bridgewater State University, where I double majored in dance and secondary education with a minor in musical theater performance. I am a state certified dance teacher for grades pre k-12 and am earning a Master of Arts in dance education from New York University.
During my time at BSU, I became a member of the National Dance Education Organization as well as NDEO's Student Chapter at BSU. I also served as the secretary for our student organization. I was inducted into the National Honor Society for Dance Arts and I completed my student teaching practicum as the Sage School, where I taught third and fourth grade creative movement classes.

Growing up, I danced children's roles in various local ballet productions including Coppelia, The Sleeping Beauty, and The Nutcracker. Recent roles include Marzipan Shepherdess in Northeast Dance Center's production of The Nutcracker, Clara in Bridgewater State University's excerpts from The Nutcracker, and Lilac Fairy in BSU's excerpts from The Sleeping Beauty. Choreography credits include The Addams Family, Just So, Damn Yankees, and Hairspray (PMA Theatre Guild), James and the Giant Peach Jr. (Amesbury Children's Theatre), "Barefoot" in BSU Dance Departments's WinterDance 2016, and "We the People" in BSU's Dance Kaleidoscope 2019. Technical work includes stage managing Dance Kaleidoscope 2018 (BSU Dance Department).
Dancing has never come naturally to me. I was born with short tendons throughout my body, making me less flexible than the average person. I was never that kid that people looked at and said, "Wow- she's going to be a ballerina someday". Getting to where I am today has been an uphill battle, but dance has always been the most beautiful, fulfilling, and fun thing in my life and I am blessed to have had the opportunity to overcome these physical limitations and discover a passion for dance I was born to have. My dream is to inspire other dancers to dance no matter what circumstances or limitations they have, and to give the gift of dance to others. I believe that all people are entitled to a quality dance education, and I am working towards providing that to as many students as possible.
